Magnaflow help please!!

I am in the market for a new catback system for my 2002 F-150 supercrew 5.4L. I have been researching Magnaflow & Flowmaster.
I really want somthing that it not very loud , just a nice rumble, sounds cool. Somthing Family & neighborhood friendly. The system I want would be
single in dual out with tips behind rear tires. I have not seen a complete magnaflow system like this so if I go magnaflow I will buy the muffler
myself & take it to the local shop & let them install it. First question doe magnaflow have a muffler that fits my needs? (part #) Second ? Do I need to
ask the muffler shop to do anything special to make the system preform & sound correctly?
Thanks

Since I never got a reply on my first 2 questions I will throw a few more
out there. For a 2002 f-150 supercrew what dia. inlet & outlet sizes do I need? Does the inlet need to be offset or centered? This muffler will be for SI/DO exit behind rear tires.

Thanks

My 98 was 2.5 offset in and out. I bought my magnaflow muffler only off of Ebay from Perfomance Peddler. Mine was a single in/out. I just changed the muffler only and I love the sound. It is somewhat quiet but has a nice low rumble at idle and when you are getting on it, but nice on the hiway. You may try Ebay and also go to the Magnaflow.com site and see what they have. I know they have a single in dual out that will most likely fit your truck. I went with the 18", # 11266, it is quiet, if you want a little louder go with a shorter muffler. Good luck with your research and purchase. Also, the prices on the Magnaflow site are going to scare you but you can purchase much cheaper else where.

Yes, it was not huge but I am going to say about 1.5 mpg. I do alot of highway driving. I do like the sound and it feels like the performance is up also.

If they dont offer the tip locations you wish, just buy the muffler & have the exhaust shop make ur tip exit out behind the wheels like you wish it to, and for a stock replacement inlet offset is good for the best fit.

Look here....

For "family friendly" look at the models with a longer body length. They will be quieter. Your stock tubing is 2.5" if that helps. Duals are pretty loud, so I'd look at the 22" body or maybe that 30".

just get the muffler you want and have a "GOOD REPUTATION" shop run your pipes for you. have them do what you want and you'll be happier
