Cat gut out

my cats are clogged and i need to replace them. if i decide to gut them out will i have any problems? we don't have emissions test here in LA so i know that isn't a problem. As far as simulators what should i go with? also am i looking at a major diff in the sound of my exhaust? i currently have a flowmaster 50 series with dumps on it which isn't very loud in the first place considering it's an suv muffler. i would like to go a little louder but not something that will give me alot of sound in the cab like i had with straight pipes after the cat.

gutting cats

Install high flow cats.Magnaflow makes a nice one you can get on e-bay for about $70.00 apiece. You'll get the sound your looking for and performance wont suffer either.I installed the high flows last week, wow! hope this helps, good luck.
