which air intake to go with magnaflow 16612

hey there, i just ordered my magnaflow 16612 for my 06 f150 screw 4x4. I still have 300 dollars left laying around that the wife hasnt found yet. I was wondering what you guys thought would be the best air intake system to get. AEM, Airraid, k&n???? Any thoughts? or maybe you wouldnt even bother with one? thanks guys

You want an intake that above all, does two things: It needs to have a heat shield around the filter, which blocks the filter from sucking up hot engine air.
Second, it needs to be free of aggressive bends in the piping, which disrupts airflow.

If it has both of these, you will be good to go. A third quaility that is nice to have is plastic tubing instead of metal, because the metal heats up, and this can cause your air to warm as it is sucked down toward throttle body.

The first two are the most important.

I am about to order my Volant air intake. It meets the qualities stated above. My magnaflows are in town and I should be putting them on tomorrow.

I ordered a BBK intake, how do you guys feel about that brand?I should have it put on in the next 2 weeks. I also have a BBK new throttle body,magnaflow sido, mac ceramic coated headers.They will all go on my newer truck which i will get monday which is a 2001 supercrew lariat fully loaded. About 2 weeks ago i rolled my 98 stepside xtra cab into a ditch,so new pics are coming soon.
