.....and it's my own question, that's the spooky part.
I know on motorcycles, if you muck with the exhaust a lot, you end up having to re-jet the carbs to take care of lean issues. More exhaust out + not more air in = lean condition, burned plugs, etc.
Just how "open" would the exhaust have to be on an F150 (4.6) before you start having lean issues? I don't plan on headers, monster pipes, etc. Just kinda curious how extreme a person would have to go before they need to start helping with the breathing.
Thanks for listening (looking).

I dont think theres anytihng bad when doing that stuff to a truck engine, you can run si/so, si/do, true duals, straight pipes, high flow cats... tons of exhaust set ups that should really affect the engine without struggling for air, though I could be wrong, like if your running long tube headers you probably might need a new custom air intake.
not a stupid question, a stupid question is asking the magnaflowrep about Flowmaster mufflers

Yup, you're right it's stupid,................. kidding!!!!! You won't have to worry because the engine senses these things and adjusts accordingly to my knowledge. I would just run whatever you desire, a system, straights, 3" straight duals, whatever you'll be fine, I'm assuming within reason, like not going dual 5" straight pipes or something, that just may hurt performance and sound, ya never know till ya try.

your O2 sensors read the air to feul ratio in the burned exaust gas and send the signal to the PCM (computer) that adjust the pulse of the injectors for more or less fuel. they adjust for altitude changes (air density). and they can handle the changes to exuast and intake modifications.
