Replacement air filter or CAI

I am wondering which would be better to get and K&N replacement filter or a K&N CAI? I am leaning toward CAI but not sure if it is a big enough difference to spend the extra money.

If you plan on keeping the truck a LOT longer, get the full CAI. Otherwise, a new filter will probably be the better choice. Intakes don't make that huge of a difference alone anyway

I plan on keeping the truck for a while. For what a CAI is worth is it worth buying? I mean does it make a noticable difference and does it improve your gas milage any? I'm aiming for a little more throttle responce but also a mile or two per gallon as well.
