If you mean 20" rims, you'll probably end up losing power. The bigger the tire you have, the more power it takes to turn them over.... E-fans sound like a good idea to me if you want to free up a few horses.

At 16 is any of this really neccessary? Stay away from the hose too many people do to much damage and get hurt with NOS if they don't know what they are doing. If you must do something the E-fans sound like the best idea. Realistically the best idea is to save your money.

Wow, ok, you really don't need to be messing with your truck until you do ALOT more research.

E-fans are electric fans, meaning they have their own electric motor to turn the fan blades, thereby freeing up the power the motor was using to turn the fan. Understand?

Really dude, at your age you don't need to be throwing money into a truck right now. Stay here on the forum, read what people are doing and learn as much as you can. Once you've got a good understanding of how everything works, then start in on your mods.

As I said before, you've got all the time in the world right now, don't go wasting your hard earned cash. There are too many people who's mommy and daddy give them whatever they want. If you look around these boards you'll find the 16-20 year olds with thousands of dollars invested in their trucks, and odds are they didn't make that money themselves. Trust me, when you work for something, it makes it that much better when you finally get it.

I see said the blind man to his deaf son as he picked up his hammer and saw.

It never hurts to ask questions... remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people! Just givin ya a hard time.... asking questions is the only way to learn. Keep it up and you'll be a knowledgeable F-150 owner on the road to doing things right.

Amen to that! Then they offer their "advice" on how to make good financial decisions regarding their trucks/mods.

ok i guess i came off all wrong.

yes my stepdad bought me the truck from my uncle.

But besides what it has come with, everything that is in the truck I bought on my own. I fill the gas, all fluids, parts, buy tires, mods, everything. I'm very thankful that they bought me my truck. but everything else I've bought or am buying unassisted by my parents. I dont take it to a mechanic to fix things, I dont go to either of my parents to ask for money..ever. Thats the truth guys. I even told them when I turned 18 I would buy the truck from them so legally it would be mine but they said it wasnt necessary. I love that truck and wouldnt want to trade it for anything. I only ask these things, like with the best mods for more horsepower, because that truck is my life. I dont want to hurt it in any way which is another reason I ask. I ask you guys, because you all are the experts on f-150s. We all pretty much have the same truck. True there are obviouisly going to be differances but they are all F-series. I know about headers, and cat backs, intakes, throttle bodies, superchargers, turbos, etc. I record that show Trucks!, I read books, I do everything i can to learn what I can on every type of car there is. Basically what I'm wanting to say is I'm not a spoiled brat. True, my parents do priveledge me ALOT but I thank them everyday for everything they do. And my truck is near the very top of that list (close to food and shelter...etc)

Yea dude nitrous can do wonders for your truck as far as power but also on your tranny. I had the NX kit on my 2003 SS with 150 shot. I remember when i was 16 i would have killed myself with it.

Stay away untill you are alittle older.

Dude,
take it from someone who is your age (17), listen to these guy, they know there stuff. In the 4 months I've been a member of this site I've learned alot from these people ( thanks BTW guys ).I too make the payments for all my stuff and feel VERY good about not having to burden my parents for financial help on my truck! I'm with them, hang out for a while and learn all you can while you can, then and only then procede to mod your truck. But most importantly enjoy owning the #1 selling truck 30 years running!
