which muffler for a 97 5.4?

I have a 97 with the 5.4 engine. im looking at getting a new muffler cause i cant really afford a whole cat back system. I want a low rumble at idle but pretty loud at full throtle...however i do alot of highway driving so i dont want to go deaf at 70-80 mph. My question is which muffler would u guys sugest? i really only knew about flowmaster but now im hearing alot about magnaflow on this site...which do u guys think is the best system/muffler for my needs?

I have 2 spintechs, they sound almost like flowmasters, but a lot better, and perform better too

Magnaflow. They prove their claims with dyno charts. I also picked up about 1.5 MPG with my Maggie. My radio easily drowns it out on the highway.

I just put on a 50 series flowmaster on my truck and I love the sound . It has a nice low rummble at idle but its probably not loud enough for what your looking for. You might try a 40 series flowmaster but alot of the magnaflows are great too.

so where do u guys run your pipes too? i like the look of the gibson exhast where theres two tips in front of the passeneger rear tire. or do u just dump them? i know dumping them is cheaper but is there any other plusses or negatives? ie noise,performance..etc
