Unhappy any suggestions?

i'm looking for an inexpensive yet nice exhaust system for a small 4.2L v-6 1999 f150...i don't know much about the differences among systems but i know what sounds good...i'd like to keep it somewhat natural yet a little more deep and throaty...and i've heard that exhaust systems tend to make v-6 engines sound "whiney" and "toy-ish"...any inexpensive suggestions would be most appreciated (increased gas milage, power, and responsiveness are all appreciated as well)

thanks

idk too much about the v6, but my friend has a 40 series flowmaster on his, and it sounds great. not whiney at all. also my brother has a two chamber flowmaster on his but its quite loud. im not sure thats you're looking for. but they both sound great!

Good sound is subjective, what sounds good to you may not to me.

The louder you make a 6, the crappier it sounds to me. Flowmaster's are loud, so they sound crappy to me. Magnaflow & Gibson sound good. I picked up around 1.5 MPG with my SI DO Mag. Didn't pick up squat with my true dual Flow's on my last truck. You'll pick up some throttle response.

Do you want duals? That'll be $250-$400. Check your local muffler shops. I got mine for $300.
