Exhaust tips

Hi, I've searched and haven't found any post to answer this:
How long can the exhaust tips be on a 2003 Supercrew with a Dynomax SI/DO kit 17321 on it? I have the kit and want to buy tips before I install it. The tail pipes (53068) only have 12" of pipe after the last bend. I was looking at 3 1/2" by 18" long tips. Will they work?

It might work. The tip may wind up sticking out to far. A muffler shop can redo the tail pipes to make some bigger tips fit.

Thanks for your reply. Your truck looks good! I notice you have the magnaflow tips out at an angle. Cool, but I was wondering if anyone here had installed this Dynomax kit (17321) on a 2003 and could comment on the tip length straight out the back. Like I mentioned, there are only 12" of pipe showing after the last bend in the tailpipe but it's hard to tell where that will be hanging when its mounted.

sounds like they can fit. if they sitck out too much you can get tips in a shorter length ( like 12"s long ) and have the exhaust shop add in a little more pping or remove some if necessary for the cleanest & most flush look
