True duals, 2.5 inch pipe, 18 inch glasspacks, and 3.5x22 inch tips out the back...sounds great.

I could possibly get a sound clip if you would like?

in my opinion- i'd go 2.25" on the 4.6-hell i used it on m y 5.4 to keep the tq higher-but then again my van weighs ~9000 lbs-i make a little over 300 ftlbs @ 2500 rpms and it stays near that till about 4300 rpms-wheres its 278 then stats to nosedive-phil

I do agree, and if I were to do it all over again, it would have 2.25.
Heck thats what I was going to put on it in the first place, but something happened, now I cant even remember what the deal was, so I said screw it and threw 2.5 on it.

true duals for 4.6

I cut the pipes at the Y,ran two pipes into a magnaflow X pipe through 2 40 series Flomaster mufflers and they dump just in front of the rear bumper, no tips. All openings are 2.50''.the X pipe gives a nice throaty rumble @ idle and fills the cab with a nice deep sound of power when I mash the gas.Install the duals, you wont be disappointed.good luck.

Get it done!

Had True Duals, 2 Magnaflow cats, Custom X-pipe, and Dual Flowmaster 40's, and had it all exit L-style just acouple weeks ago. Nice rumble at idle, nice when rolling down the road, and VERY nice when you step on it.

Here is a link to what my 02 4.6 V8 Fx4 sounds like with true duals. It is 2.25" pipe and no mufflers, it has 3" SS tips on it.

I agree with the others on going with the 2.25" on the duals. If you want the look of the duals and want to maintain your bottom end as much as possible, then go 2.25". If you don't care about the bottom end then go with the standard 2.5".

Good luck

I just had "true duals" installed on my truck last Friday, and I love them. I don't have any mufflers yet so they are a but loud... but they sound great.
