Has anybody installed a cat-back on their 2007 (or 2006) Supercrew with a 6-1/2 foot box? Magnaflow says kit #16614 WILL WORK, but reading the installation instructions, I can’t see how. Kit #16615 (SIDO exit before passenger rear tire) will also work, but I don’t want my rear wheel center cap to turn green like they did in 1997 when Ford exited the exhaust before the rear tire.
Lastly, those of you who have removed the factory exhaust, can it be done without cutting the tailpipe from the muffler without putting the vehicle on a lift? I’d like to keep the factory system intact in case the new kid actually does not fit, or if I trade in a year and want to reinstall the factory system. MBRP always said you could caress the system off my Crewcab diesels, but it never worked in the five times I replaced exhausts. The sawzall always prevailed.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Thanks for the confirmation on the 16614.

The exhaust came yesterday afternoon while I was at work. I got home and opened it up at about 5:30pm. The sight of the twin stainless tips was too much to bear. I changed clothes and went straight to work. Total install by myself was about two hours after all the messing around with the alignment as you will see below.
I wanted to salvage the old system, so I backed the truck up on some ramps to get more ground clearance to drop the inlet to the muffler more... and had I not, I don't think it would have come out without the smokewrench or sawzall. Lowering of the spare ws also necessary. I unbolted each existing hanger from the frame as they were much easier to remove from the existing exhaust after the exhaust was lying on the floor in my workshop than trying to remove the existing exhaust from three hangers at once while on the truck. Mind you, I worked solo. This is the fifth, or so, exhaust that I have installed on my trucks, and all prior ones were 4" and 5" exhausts on diesels, so I kind of knew what to expect.
Well, installing the new system was a breeze. Fit of the pipes was perfect... except the alignment. No matter how hard I tried, the muffler would not lay flat and the passengers side tips up a few degrees. It's not a problem. The problems were with the rear hangers. I thing Magnaflow took a cheap way out on these two hangers. Yeah, I'm sure design is easier said than done, but the bent studs welded on the small plates hit the frame such that the hangers kick out from the frame and sets the studs the rubber hangers slide on at a pretty good downward angle. The directions provided (as far as the rear hangers) were junk. The photographs provided don't tell you what side you are looking at, or how you are looking at it, which was complicated by having them upside down on the literature in the first place. Couldn't the photos have a caption underneath them saying something like... Passenger Side Rear Hanger - Looking From Front of Truck to the Back? Also, both new rear rubber hangers as installed are stretched back instead of hanging vertically. I know they should be slightly off vertical to put some hanging pressure on the system so it does not bounce around, but mine seem extreme.
Then came the tip alignment. One tip (passenger's side) is about one inch off the factory hitch, which is fine. The driver's side, however, is about three of four. No matter what I do, I cannot get them to look uniform. Distance down from the bumper matched side to side and is fine.
As for everything else... WOW! It sounds fantastic. I love the growl on start-up. It is very quiet after the truck idles down (outside), and inside at an idle you can barely hear it. Touch the accellerator, and man she opens up. Ther is no rapping like the Flowmasters I've heard.
Overall, I love the system. It is exactly the sound I was looking for. The fit problems I think I will take up with a local muffler shop this weekend. I will try Magnaflow directly today and will post some pictures in my gallery to show the issues. They are a bit dark from nighttime, but they show the deal. As for performance, I did not reset the PCM (disconnect the battery), but I know the idiot center MPG calculator pretty well. It looks like I may have picked up a little over a mile to a mile and a half per gallon with easy accelleration and highway driving. I was at a half of a tank when I started to work this morning, so the MPG calculator had "leveled out". By the time I got to work (about 60 miles), she went up about 1.8 MPG. After the calculator "levels out", I can barely get it to fluctuate a few tenths in 60 miles. Well see. I log every fill anyway, so it won't be hard to tell. Now... the wait for Troyer. Come on tunes!
EDIT: Added photos of Magnaflow #16614 Rear Hangers to My Gallery (See 2007 Screw)

Awesome. Lovin that Magnaflow sound yet? I finally decided to check my mileage this past tank. I usually don't because this is not my DD, so I really don't care what my mileage is. I easily picked up 1.5 mpg! I was amazed. Just by installing something I wanted strictly for sound.

Hey, where can I get one of those hood ornaments like you have on your rig? Nice!

She was given to me by JBMX. I'm sure he'd happily send one your way.
