So what exhaust.....99' F-150

So its come to the point in time where exhaust is next on the list of things to do......but what exhaust is the question. dont want something to obnoxious but i want something that will sound good for a reasonable price..

I have a set of summit shorty headers with dual exhaust and no mufflers stock cats and it sounds great! maybe to loud for more conservative folks though.

For a better sound i'd suggest dump tips, looks pretty nice without tips, though sometimes its nice to have tips to let everyone know to back off a bit so they dont get the exhaust fumes thrown in their faces haha.

I'm putting a dumped Flowmaster super 40 on my truck.

I had a flowmaster with duals installed that dumped down behind my rear wheels on my 98 expedition. with the chrome tips it looks great. You can just see the end of the tips and sounds even better. Quiet at highway speeds but low and loud when you get on it.

I love my Magnflow single in, dual out. Just the right sound, low and growly.

Hey guys why is it all about name brands???? Do some custom work...here in the south we do things a little different. With Fords you've got for converters which quiten things down a lot in themselves, in most states you cant take them off but you CAN take the beads out and the inspectors will never know (come in from the top). As for me, a buddy and I chopped my factory pipe off at the manifold, put a Y on it and got some Flowmaster pipes originally intended to go on a 2500 Chevy (sorry for swearin in the FORD forum...lol) that, when turned around just right gives you a nice dual look. We put 8.5 inch chrome Gibson tips on with a 45degree beveled end. These aren't exactly the loudest in the world but they are nice, and DEEP when you get in the gas. We did all this for around 165...that includes lunch and a case of Mt. Dew(only 17 no beer yet). Hope that helps or at least opens your ideas to "alternate" routes of "modifications".

not to mention you had sound deadening

I like the dynomax sound, its pretty sweet. But just like Ford trucks i'm a Flowmaster guy

I suggest a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler.Whatever setup you want Super 40 is available with it & sounds great.

http://exhaustsoundclips.com/phpbb2/...egory&cat_id=3

That site has a few sound clips of Flowmaster on our trucks, poor quality clips though but you can hear the rumble & idle well. Ifur not a member on there why aren't you? join up!
