Silencer removal

Exclamation Silencer removal

Does anyone know if removing the scilencer will void the warranty??

I don't know, but I was an idiot one day and removed mine. Now, when the weather's hot, my engine makes a stupid loud humming sound.

Any modifications that cause a problem will void the warranty on that item.

So if you took the silencer off and the MAF sensor went...you would most likely have to pay for the MAF sensore ur self.

MAF is upstream of silencer

Yep, but the dealer might claim that the loud noise vibrated the little wire in the MAF and caused it to fail.

If your dealer is sharp enough to notice the missing silencer, while replacing your MAF sensor, you have a better dealer than mine! Every time I get my truck back from fixing something, 2 more things are broken.

Every time I take my truck in for service they ask: What kind of truck? I respond, "97' F-150". They then ask, "Is it a diesel?" I respond "gas, I think, it's the 5.4L"........
