Magnaflow tip... is this right?

Magnaflow tip... is this right?

I just put on my Maggy cat-back on an '01 Expy and this is what the tip looks like:



You can see they inner tube extends almost to the end of the tip. Is this normal? It looks pretty crappy as is. I would expect the tip to be welded to the end of the tube, not around it.

That is how my magnaflow kit was too... For as much as it cost, i would think it would have been done better than that... Does your tip point more torwards the front than the back too?

No, it's pretty much straight out to the side. I do think it could stick out a little further though, but some re-adjusting might be enough.

Nothing a sawzall wont fix in about 5 mins. Just cut it shorter and youre golden.

?? Well, I suppose it could be that easy, but only if I wanted to cut through the tip as well. Otherwise, it'll take a sawzall, grinder, welder, maybe a flap wheel and probably a couple hours at least.

yeah cutting that tip off and rewelding it wouldnt be worth it to me... Once carbon builds up you wont even notice it.
