Air intakes

I want to boost my mileage a little bit and im thinking about putting a k&n on my truck. I was wondering what kind of boost i would be getting for my average mileage around town. Also, does anybody recommend any brands?

a air intake or a k&n doesnt really do that much. u need at least some headers to go along with it to notice any real gains.u can get the air in, but the exhaust has to flow better out

A intake isnt going to boost your mileage alotbut your best choices are AF1 or airaid. if mpg is your goal i would get electric fans and UD pullies

Keith is right you need to open up the engine to let it 'breath' better if you get more air coming in you need bigger pipes which means a better exhaust system to let the air flow through easier. i would go with shorty headers, k&n intake and flowmasters.

long tubes will get you more torque which goes for better mileage in the city but theyre a pain to install.

ive got an afe with heat shield on my truck and couldnt be happier.
