I ordered the wrong thing
I ordered the wrong thing
So I made an order for a Magnaflow exhaust 16612 and I found out I needed a 15821 when it was too late. Is there any way to make the 16612 fit an early 04 truck without too much trouble or should I get the proper exhaust?
If it wont fit I am selling my 16612 so see the for sale if you need one.

mine is the new bodystyle but it was built prior to June 04. I was aware there was a difference but I just accidently ordered the wrong one. I have decided to just go ahead and get the correct one and sell the wrong one. The one I intend to sell should arrive to my house tomorrow so if anybody wants it...let me know.
I think the vendor would certainly exchange for the correct one. Especially since you haven't installed/received it yet.

The Borla I ordered came with both pieces. I don't know if it would work but my "leftover" piece is early 04 and is free plus shipping. It is 3" and I could send/post pics. I have no use for it, just a thought.
Many thanks on the tips guys but I spoke with the vendor and was told I would have pay shipping (of course-I knew that) which is high because exhausts are heavy and then because this guys drop ships crap from Magnaflow and doesnt maintain an inventory I would have to pay a restocking fee which is absurdly high.
So here is what I did. I found another spot on the net to order the correct one for 340 shipped. The wrong exhaust is supposed to arrive today via UPS and I have already managed to find a buyer for it via craigslist here locally for the same 340 I paid for the replacement. So it looks like if this guy pulls through I will be out just some of my time and a little gas money to drive to meet him about 20 miles away this evening.
If anything with that changes I will be in touch and again thanks for all the tips.
Out of curiosity...in all of this I have read more than a couple times where the Magnaflow exhaust clamp bolts suck so bad they break off. Is this really going to be an issue or this "operator error"? I ask because I installed one of these systems on a Silverado a couple years ago and it went on very easy.
