You mean "shorten" right?- Kidding. And no, I would not worry about them hurting anything, they probably help for all we know.

mmmm shorting ahhhhhh they help the motor more than anything that could hurt it they do increase temp a little around the engine bay only because there thinner but still keep motor a little cooler and help it to breath better and dont forget the the great sounding tone ahhhhh

All I heard that no matter the brand, they can be a bitch to install. Alot of $$$ for minimal gains so weigh your pros and cons about them, that's the only hurtin' going on really.

I had headers on an old truck of mine and they did nothing to hurt the engine. Like someone else said, they do heat up the engine compartment a little, but to help this and add some life to the headers, look at buying some that are ceramic coated. This will help them run cooler and last longer. The biggest difference you're going to notice is the sound. Hope this helps.--DIY
