Recent flowmaster single in / out install - question
I have a 06 F150. 5.4L
A local muffler shop (15 years in business 1 owner) and he does all the work. He installed a single in / out flowmaster with a custom bent pipe 3" pipe. My question is, he installed the flowmaster sideways so the exhaust is visible from the side. I am not sure why, but should the exhaust be installed flat?
What I mean by sideways is that the exhaust turned two ways flat and tall. I hope this makes sense.
Also I noticed when he custom bent the pipe that is a visible
dent near the back hanger, near the spare tire. Should I be worried about this? Whats the advantages of installing the flowmaster so thats it taller and sticks out from under the truck?
Thanks!!

SWJ there is no logical reason why he installed that muffler sideways that method is usually used for true duals and there isnt enough room for them to be flat. I wouldn't worry about unless it looks like hll look underneath and see if there is enough room to install it in a normal position, and if you dont like it the way they istalled it have them change it and have it your way BK style.
Thanks for the replys. I know a lot of people who had work done there, but its just something about the stupid thing being visible from the side of the truck.
He custom bent the 3" pipe and there is somewhat of a dent near the hanger thats visible from looking over the back tire. I hate to ask the guy to redo everything...but for $220 it should look like the way I want it to.

I wonder if he put the "bend" in the pipe for clearance issues?
I have to agree though, if you're not happy with the work, take it back. Just because he's been around awhile, doesn't mean he's always right.
