Question Another exhaust question...

So I listened to all the different exhausts on their websites and I really like the Flowmaster 40 Series. So I have a few questions about that particular muffler. Other than the sound what should I expect? Will it make a noticable difference in anything other than sound? Also I have read some of you write about cab drone, how bad is it? I really don't drive very long distances in my truck, will it be very noticeable? Will I be able to drown out the drone with loud music? Also I called a couple place to get estimates, when I called Meineke they said that it would cost about $175 for the muffler and a chrome tip. They also said they don't weld the muffler in they use some kind of clamps. Did I misunderstand them? The other guy said he was going to charge me $200 for the muffler and chrome tip but that he would weld it in. Is it worth the extra $25 buck to get it welded? Once again I know nothing about trucks or cars, so any advice you can give me will not fall on deaf ears. I appreciate any help you guys can give the new guy.

Well how much is the muffler and labor if you can have it welded for 200 bucks go for it if thats parts and labor roll with that exhaust drone shouldn't be thatbad you at least have overdrive at cruising speeds so it might be mellow unless u drive around with out overdrive. My old 454SS truck with the true dual setup no cats and two Flowmaster 40's side by side 3.5 inch tips now keep in mind these trucks in 1990 had no overdrive crusing at 65 was 3,000 rpm and 75 was 3,500 rpm this thing sounded like a land speedboat it was like drone to the tenth power it was so loud spent about 560 bucks for the whole thing but the sound of a big block 454 is priceless.
