Volant Cold Air Intake Question...

Not to repeat the previous thread but has anyone used this intake?

http://www.volantperformance.com/idetail.asp?ID=53

It claims gains of up to 18 Horsepower and 40 Ft lbs Of torque as opposed to the 10 to 12hp gains of other models.

Thanks

Try doing a search, there are hundreds of threads on intakes.
Don't believe everything the manufacturers say. I doubt if the numbers are even close. I have a Volant and I noticed a seat of the pants difference but I doubt if it was 18 HP. There are several guys on here that have dyno'd with volant, airraid, K & N etc, everyone has their favorites. I like the volant as it a true cold air intake as it is totally enclosed.

Do you hear any sound from the intake? Or, is it silent because it's enclosed?

Thumbs up

I'm running the system. Did not purchase the ram air option.
On my '05 KR 5.4 L, the box really moans when I punch it.
According to my "instant milage" on the dash I have picked up about 2 mpg @ 70 mph on level highway at 1750 rpm.
Be sure and reset the pcm(disconnect the battery ground) while you install the unit. The new style cover plate on the box looks good.
