Exhaust system setup the loudest

I have a 94 ford f150 straight 6. i need to replace my exhuast system and i was wondering which of these setups would sound best

High flow cat to a y-pipe then 2 mufflers(the loudest ones i can find) to pipes comming out the rear

Or

High flow cat to a muffler then y-pipe with dual out the back

Which of those would sounds the loudest? i wanna run no muffler and cat but my emissions won't allow it. And what type of muffler would sound best? i heard 40 series sound nice, but i heard them on my truck before and didn't have alot of tone.

i personally have the 40 series flowmasters, they are loud, so lound in fact most people go with the magnaflow because they think the flowmasters are annoying, personally i enjoy it.

but, being only that you have a straight 6 i would go with the high flow cat, and a 40 series flowmaster or the new super 40series. 1 in two out. there is no need to buy two mufflers with only having a 6cyl. i have the 4.6 on my brand new 150 and its really loud. its a 1 in 2 out also.

also i had a ford ranger, with the 2.4 4cyl and the same setup on it. and that little *** motor was as loud as my v8 is now, belive it or not. so to save some money 1 muff. = lots of noise.

good luck

I also have a 94 F150 4X4 with the 300 (a pic or 2 in my gallery). Here is what I have, the first cat is gutted (second is still all there) 2.5" into a glass pack SI/DO 2.5" pipes out the sides with 3.5"diaX24"(long) chrome slash cut tips turned to flow with the body. It is about as "loud" as you can get a 300, unless you where to straight pipe the whole thing. I am actually going to be putting a full exhaust (almost factory) back on the truck since my current set-up is starting to rust. And since it is just work truck now, I only want to stick money into it if I have to, so no more goodies for that truck.

High flow cat, 2.5" or 3" pipe going to a si/do ( single in/dual out ) muffler will do the job
