Which K&N

I've been looking around on here for a long while and my eyes can't take it anymore so I'm going to just ask. Forgive me if this has been discussed somewhere and I just didn't hit the right keywords. When I went to the K&N website and searched for the intake kits for my truck (2002 SuperCrew FX4 5.4L) I saw there were a couple options. There was the 57-2541 and the 77-2514KP. The 57 shows greater gains but a lot of people on this site are using the 77 series. What's the difference? Why are more people using the 77 series? Are either difficult to install? Are these good intakes? Thanks for the help.

The 57-2541 comes with a heat shield. This is the best one of the three. Next is the 57-2514. This doesnt come with a heat shield but its still great and it was the first K&N built for our trucks. Finally, the 77, which to some(not me) looks bets. Its just for the looks. The 57 series which is made out of plastic runs cooler, the 77 heats up quicker. The easiest to install is the 57-2514. They are all pretty much the same. These are the best intakes. K&N builds them real good. I have a 57-2514 for sell if your interested. Let me know

How important is the heat shield? How old is the intake kit you're selling? How much are you asking for it? How come you're looking to sell it? Thanks for the response to my inquiry by the way. I was curious if the 77 series was more of an appearance thing rather than a performance thing.
