Would this be louder??

I am currently running a IMCO "hotrod" muffler 3" single in/out, that exits out through a 3" tail pipe in the stock location without any tip. I am looking to make my truck louder, but I would like to still have a muffler (hopefully keep the IMCO since I had to pay $100 for it). If I were to have a Y-pipe and then run dual tailpipes (most likly 2.5" dia) out under the box corners and have 3.5" dia X 24" long slant cut tips put on, would this make any differance?? I have heard that the tips can kinda act like a megaphone in a way, is this right??

I also posted this in the 04-present F150 forum

Yes, it would be a little louder I would think, because they do act as a megaphone. Just ask those tuner geeks, that's all they put on sometimes and get alot louder. Truck looks great by the way, wheels and tires make a huge difference.
