Hooker Maximum Flow Muffler and a few other questions!
Hooker Maximum Flow Muffler and a few other questions!
I am now convinced that my Flowmaster 40 series is robbing torque. How much is anyones guess, but its not a straight through muffler.
I have always heard good things about Hooker products, and they have always been a part of the muscle car scene.
Does anyone have experience with this muffler? I need a SI/DO muffler because the piping is already there and at this point I am just going to swap out the muffler.
The magnaflow has everyone ranting and raving, but a 20" muffler is just going to be to quiet. Someone had earlier claimed there is an 11" but I cannot find the part number on the magnaflow website.

I have a 40 series troubles too
I have a 40 series SI/DO on my 2001 5.4 it sucked all my torque out but I am considering Longtube headers to try to correct that.
my truck has more top end power but the lack of bottom end torque is not worth it. I have a K&N CAI, hypertech 3, MAC underdrive Pulleys, and the muffler change I get 27-30MPG on the Texas highways with '93 octane.
any one else had similar experience with flowmaster??
