More HP

I have read several posts about air intake and dual exhast systems, but have a question. What are the horsepower gains if any without a high flow mass air flow sensor, and are the HP gains boasted by the companies actual HP increases with the product alone, or is it in combination with additional products to achieve the maximum capabilities of the product? The problem I see for breathing is the MAF sensor being a bottleneck and wonder who has any advice on this. Thanks for your replies.

FYI I was considering a K&N air intake system and dual flowmasters, but would like to know if this will help much at all. I have the 5.4l Triton and no complaints, but more HP is never a bad thing

40 horse is a nice added punch...what was the total cost for what you installed on your truck?
