Keeping the rust out of the exhaust tips
I recently had the Flowmaster SIDO system put on my truck. I love it to death, but I have 4" tips, and you can see some rust in the very end of the exhaust tips (since they are so big). My younger brother has 5" tips on his tahoe, and he just showed me tonight where he had spray painted the inside of the exhaust with a high heat resistant spray paint. It looks much better than the rust. Does anyone else have any other cures for my ailment. Thanks again.
I used BBQ grill high temp paint from Home Depot it lookes great. I think the paint cost me $5 for a can. I painted the inside of the pipes black it's been almost a year and have had no issues with discoloration. It sucked sanding the inside of the pipes because I had to use a paint stick with the sand paper on it I used 1500 grit on the stainless tips. I highly recomend you sand it and take some extra time to tape everything off before you apply the paint. email me and I'll send you some you pics as I cannot figure out how to post pictures here.
