flowmasters would be louder but with a loss in performance.

If you want a louder sound, just take the muffler completely out and run straight pipes back from the cats or dump the exhaust right behind the cab. You could go with the slowmasters for greater sound but I believe that it has been stated that you will lose some low end power. You could also go with a shorter (11 inch) Magnaflow muffler for increased sound without power loss.

Pretty much what he said. If you want louder then go with big exhaust dumps under the bed, pointing down. This will give you much more sound. Also if it is a dual setup then if you have a shop point the dumps at an angle towards each other it will make them louder. Over in eastern Washington we used to call those Gunny Cans. We ran that setup on many cars and it always sounded very good.

dynomax bullet muffler dumped under bed sounds awesome with a good deep tone when you get on it, it screams

Sorry Witey,

I did not mean to offend anyone and I should not have used the "slowmaster" reference. I believe that in one of the threads on this board there are some dyno numbers that revealed that in fact you do lose some low end torque with the flows so I was just using those figures as a reference without having to link to the original post. I just assumed that FX4_Gurl would have no interest in the data from the test and simply wanted options. As long as you are satisfied with them then that is all that matters.

Talk to your shop about changing the muffler. The shop I use will change the muffler, with in a couple of months, at no cost to me as long as there's no damage to the muffler. If it's only a month old, they can resell it as new and nobody would know the difference. Unfortunately Mags are what they are and you can't just simply make them significantly loader. I like Mags but if you want load, go with Flows or str8 pipes. Hope it works out for ya.

Flowmasters sound much better, and all this talk about lost bottom end is like a 3% torque loss, which equates to about 10 pounds of torque but you still gain 2% HP. (these are average numbers) Nothing sounds better than the muffler that reinvented the performance exhaust revolution, and thats FLOWMASTER

i wasn't offended, that's just my opinion.just look at the design of magnaflows and pretty much every other performance exhaust.they're all basically a glasspack with a big oval case.
