Question Ever heard of Tru Flow?

I went to my local truck concept store today and the gentleman reccommended getting a Tru Flow air system put on my truck. He says when he saw the demonstration he through his K&N in the garbage can. It is somehow different from K&N in the sense that it still uses the OEM airbox for more breathability. It doesn't claim to use 300% air, but it does keep your air much cleaner. Does this sound like a good buy to anyone? Is anyone already using this product? Thanks for the insight.

Oh and I know everybody liked the FSU vs. UM game right...I mean yeah the offense was ugly, but did anyone see Buster Davis everywhere? Go noles, championship...lock it up!

ps. this is my new signature...like it?

NOLES187,

I this what you're talking about:
http://www.trueflow.com/

I'm planning on putting an intake system in my truck also. I've did search's here to learn about what to look for in a system. Seem's like a person should be looking for an intake system that gets air from outside the engine compartment if you want a "cold" air intake. This is done by using enclosed air boxes that get air from openings in the fenders (or wherever else). I myself am interested in getting the Outlaw cold air intake system which has it's own enclosed airbox. Volant systems also use their own enclosed airbox's. TrueFlow and Iceman use the stock airbox with their own tubes. Keep in mine I've only looked at the mentioned systems for my truck - don't know about the newer model's.

yeah...im still shopping myself...by the way do you think it makes that much of a difference in gas mileage and performance? Is it really worth the 300 bucks to get the entire system?

300 bucks is really excessive for an intake. you really dont get that much in return. good product though

I've read here that there's minimal performance gained with just an intake system, as Socal858 has mentioned. Gas mileage, I'm not sure.

The best price that I have seen online for an Outlaw system for my truck has been $179.00 with free shipping (on ebay).

true flow

I ve been using the true flow system for about 10,000 miles and it works great, big throttle response, low noise, definate gas milaege increase, go to the true flow website and watch the demo on the filters and see for yourself, got mine on autoanything.com for about 220 and free shipping.

It's just open cell foam, it's used a lot in aquariums as well. You're paying for the shiny objects that go with it. you can buy the foam in various sizes, sheets etc.

I just bought a TRUEFLOW air filter off the autoanything website, for $40. Didn't want to spend the 200 or so on the whole cool air system yet. BTW, your nolies have 3, yes 3 more Championships to go to catch the CANES.

Thanks for that. I might have to put the intake on hold (or go a different route). Tires are the priority (got money coming for them), next is either exhaust (muffler and tail pipe) or Timbren springs, then step bars (have part of the money for them), then intake. Yep, on a tight budget. Planning for a youngin' to join wife and I in the near future - nothin' in the oven yet, though.
