Exclamation Dynatech header problems, Help PLS.

The shop that is installing my Dynatech long tube headers has encountered a problem in getting one of the O2 sensors to plug up. They are saying there's not enough slack in the harness to mate up. I am installing the system on a early 2004 FX4 F150 SuperCrew w/ 5.4L.

They have encountered a second problem with the Magnaflow SIDO. The truck has the factory trailer hitch package and the tip brackes are seriously rubbing the trailer hitch.

Has anyone encountered these issues and can help resolve??? Responses returned quickly will greatly be appreicated. Truck is DD and secondary truck is also having transmission problems and being on 24/7 call doesn't help. Thanks for the help. Dave

For the 02 sensors, can you splice the wires and add some to make sensors reach?

If that's a no, there are kits for mustangs that may work that is an extended harness of sorts, but I'm thinking it will give alot extra.

As for the 02s....the guy can readily find extensions...and if he doesn't know that...I'd question having him install headers.

As for the Magnaflow "kit"...can't really help you there. We don't deal with any "kits" as we have custom mandrel bending on-site (up to 5" BTW)...but somethin's got to move...or he needs to use his compression machine to create clearance in the tubing.

Good luck.

Thanks for the information. I'm using an off-road speciality shop. Found out after the fact, this is his first system to install, OH JOY. Not looking good, on my way into town to see how we can rememdy this. I'll give him a call on the extensions. Thank you all for the help. Dave

02 sensor extensions

Where can you purchase an O2 sensor extension? I was also informed that my truck is an early 2004 which has 4 O2 sensors on the stock system, the Dynatech system only came w/ three new ones.

Don't know about your specific area...but around here there are tons of "speed shops" that you can walk into and get them.

Your installer needs to add an additional O2 bung...

When I arrived to pick the truck up, the had resolved all issues. They found a wiring harness clamp attached to the block, after undoing it the got enough slack for the sensor that they were having problems connecting. The other two supplied sensors were easy to hook up, once they trimmed the 'ears' off the male plug as was stated in a write up I supplied to them. The Dynatech system mated to the Maganflow SIDO system sounds kick butt. Nice and throaty during acceleration, but hardley noticable during constant speed. My friends defineately like the set up. Waiting on Troyer P. to ship the SuperChip for the truck now. Should have good results. Thanks for the info and help. Unfortanely, there are no speed shops in our area. Had Supershops a couple of years ago, but they have since went out of business.
