Dynatech Headers

Quick question. Are the Dynatech headers ceramic coated? I can't find any info on their site.

If you're refering to the 04 and above F150s, they are not coated according to the Troyer Performance website...see below

These longtube headers are the only true BOLT-ON setup available for your 2004 & up F-150 5.4 3V.

This is a true bolt-on setup that will mate right up to any existing cat-back exhaust system, from the stock factory setup to Magnaflow, etc., cat-back exhaust systems.

Power gains will vary based upon boost level, but typically run in the area of 30 RWHP. Even more importantly, the torque curve is extended over a wider range over what is seen using the stock factory exhaust manifolds or any "shorty" type of header system. This extension of the torque curve is critically important in aiding torque & acceleration when driving hard, but also even fuel economy during normal cruising.

No longer does the torque peak early and nosedive quickly as happens with stock exhaust manifolds or any shorty type header, it is now extended out much longer for dramatic improvements in performance all throughout the entire rpm range.

These headers feature laser-cut flanges & mandrel bends, and are made of T304 Stainless Steel (including hardware!), use 1 5/8" tubes, Magnaflow high-flow cats, and already have both the upstream AND downstream O2 sensor bungs welded in, so all you need to do is to simply screw in all of your factory O2 sensors. Your OBD-II system will work as designed from the factory, no more having to run illegally by having your tuner turn off the rear O2 sensors, etc.

No ceramic coating is required due to the heat-retention characteristics of these stainless steel headers and everything fitting to the factory heat shields, etc.

Sorry, they are not legal in Cali...checkout the note below on the Dynatech website...

NOTE: These products are intended for racing and off-road applications.
Not legal for sale or use in the state of California, nor in states which have
adoptedCalifornia emission standards.

Mcdover, if you want to make a lot more power with your headers read this :

Rafa,

Oh, I did my homework. It's going in to a custom exhuast shop next week for mandrel bend true duals with x-pipe. Then back on the dyno to see what my gains are. Did you ever get the set-up you were looking for? See a big difference?

Basically what i gained from the link to the other thread was that long tubes that go from 8 to 1 are a complete waste of money unless you fab them to go from 8 to 2.

I may be wrong, but why wouldnt you just buy some shorty headers, hi flow cats, Y pipe replacing what I believe is an X pipe on the F150 (i am not positive that its an X, correct me if i am wrong), and add a new cat back system.

That is my .02, i have no numbers to prove my theory.

Now im just babbling

Yes there are, but that's just like buying a $100 half-*** PepBoys tire and a $200 Pirelli or Goodyear. Do your self a favor, don't buy a half-*** headers.

If you are not supercharged the 8X1 is a good option, worry about customizing them just if you make more than 350RWHP.
