Installing Magnaflow SI/So Exhaust

I ordered Magnaflow kit and am awaiting delivery. When it arrives I would like to install it myself. I ordered the 612 kit, single side exit, 3 inch pipe with 4 inch tip. My question is has anyone installed it themself on this site and did you experience any problems with install? Did you have to cut off the factory exhaust or did it come out as one piece? Thanks for the help...

I put thae same kit on my truck. The hardest part was getting the stock exhaust off. Do a search there was someone that put a kit on and did some good step by step pics. There is one part of the exhaust the has a keyed slot in it. I think it is the joint right in front of the muffler towards the engine.

I installed my 16612 in an hour and a half...as redrascal alluded to, the hardest part was removing the stock exhaust...I didn't have to cut any piping...I unbolted the pipe that connects the y pipe to the muffler pipe, removed the retainer from the muffler hanger, and pushed the exhaust off with my legs...Don't forget the retainer on the muffler hanger...I would have finished 15 minutes earlier if I would have taken it off initially...

Good luck with your project...you can do it...

I installed the magnaflow kit today. It took a little over an hour to install pretty straight forward though. I didn't have to cut anything everything fit like I expected to. The sound is definitely deeper than stock but not overpowering. I didn't want the exhaust to be too loud.
