High-flows and headers

I am trying to make my exhaust a little louder. I want to ditch the 4 cats and put 2 high flows and put some headers on. That should do the job of making my Flomaster 40 series louder, right?

What is the best brand of high-flows cats? Best brand of headers?

Gotta go with the dynatechs...they come with Magnaflow cats. They will make your system a good bit louder. Plus, they have that "headers" sound. It's a good-sounding system.

The Dynatech "set" is just the headers and Hi-flow cats (comes with a Y pipe).

I just had them installed on Monday and I love the sound. I have a Borla cat back, so the set is not as loud on my truck as it would be with Flowmasters.

The initial startup is a little louder. Idle has more of a rumble sound, but doesnt really seam any louder. It sounds so damn good when Im driving, anywhere from cruising to WOT. I havnt even turned on my stereo since I got the truck back. One of these days Ill get a few soundclips.

I havnt had a dyno, but it feels like it has a little more power then before, even with it being as hot as its been out.

Only wish the manifold bolts wouldnt have been rusted as they were so I could have installed them myself.

In MA I know there are too many laws. Will it be legal if i get the dynatech "set" and have a local shop install them? How much louder will it make my truck? Should I also switch to the super 40 series? Will I lose low end power?

I think MA adopted CA emissions, which means you have a visual test as well as a snniffer if I'm not mistaken.

If so, you'll fail the visual with long-tubes since you will be losing the pre-cats.

Most shops in CA won't touch cats unless they aer bad. May be the same for MA as well...you'll need a good relationship with the shop so that they know you won't turn them in, as it's a federal crime.
