Flowmaster 40 series is not loud enough!!!

I have had a flowmaster 40 series muffler si/do on for about 4 months and it is to quiet. If I get the new super 40 series muffler put on and replace my cats with high flow cats will that make it louder? Will it be worth it? Is there any other way I can make my truck louder but still keep it leagal??

I just put on some headers and now my truck is louder, my Magnaflow catback was kinda quiet, but sounds beefier now.

Well, you could dump the exhaust right after the mufflers. You could also just remove the mufflers all together.

If possible I would like to keep the look of the duals. If I took off the muffler what would the truck sound like? Crap? What if I just dumped it right after the muffler? Is that legal in MA?

Last time I checked, the original recipe 40 series is the loudest. Ditch your four cats, and run two highflows. That should increase the sound. If that isn't loud enough, then run straight pipes. Any decent muffler shop should be able to make a Y pipe so you could keep your tail pipes and tips.

isnt the super 40 the loudest most deepest and aggresive? Isnt str8 pipes illegal. If I go get some edellbrock headers, get rid of the 4 cats and put two high-flows, chg to super 40 will that be loud enough to turn some heads. Right now the 40 series is not loud enough for me. How mcuh would it cost me to get headers, two high flows and change the muffler out?(installed by shop)

It depends what I kind of sound you are looking to turn heads with.....To make your truck louder but still sound good lose the 4 cats and go with the hi-flows.....If you want the rat-atat-tat sound lose the muffler and have y-pipe fabbed up where the muffler was and run dual 2 1/2 or even 3 inch pipes.....the open exhaust could hurt low-end performance though....

I have the Gibson shorty headers/Bassani high flow cats and 2 Flowmaster40s
out the back and its to loud. The Bassani high flow cats is what made the BIG dif.The shorty headers helped a little.
