Best Cold Air Setup 4 The $$$ ?

Hey ,

I know this topic has been beaten to death, so I will keep it short & sweet.
Which is the best aftermerket air filter setup for my 2006 Ford F-150 5.4L ?
They all say a increase in MPG, but I am not holding my breath.
I need something to get alittle more Umph to this truck, as it is way too slow and WAY underpowered.

Let me know what you are running - if you like it or not - links - etc..
And as usuall , ALL help is greatly appreciated...

I asked the same question about 3 weeks ago after hours and hours of pricing and reading I personally like volant.
They have a cold box compared to an open filter. They also have a ram air module that extends to the front of your truck near the grill and gets air moving in that way also.
just my opinion
hope this helps
I am next getting flowmaster 50
and a superchip

The Air Force One setup has the biggest improvements.

but, many say spending more than $100 on an intake is a waste as the marginal gain from say the Airraid JR or the GREEN cold air intake and the AF1 is negligable.

If you really want performance a tuner is your best bet. Troyer offers a package with a tuner, exhaust, and intake for around a grand.

I didn't get his intake or exhaust as I already had them, but I did do those three mods and I regeared to 4.1 and the truck is noticably quicker at all speeds now.

Thanks 4 the input, and keep it comming.
A tuner is in the near future, but I first wanna get a intake.
I dont think I will ever do an exhaust, as comming from beig a previous diesel owner, I like how quiet the truck is

Yes troyer specifically tunes these trucks running 3.25 af1 intakes to gain great power. They are expensive but you have to pay to play. If I was going to go the af1 route I would get troyer to custom tune it for the most power you will get out of any airbox/tuner combo. But for looks and functionality I really like volant!
