fix for loud intake?

Does anyone know if sound/heat insulator wrap will fix the noise from the aftermarket intakes?

I used to own a Chevy that had an AFE intake and I dont remember it being this loud. In my new Ford, I installed the same brand intake. I noticed it was very loud at certain RPMs when the engine was loaded (it didnt make the noise in park). Last weekend, I added the Edge Evolution programmer and WOW!! It is very loud, and all the time now! I dont like it at all. If I cant fix it, I'm going back to stock intake.

I tried adding another pipe clamp at the stock airbox support bracket thinking it may be a vibration problem. It didnt help. I believe the noise is coming from the thin rubber boot that joins the molded plastic tube to the engine, but not sure.

Any info would be appreciated.

You could wrap it with exhaust headerwrap, and it MIGHT quiet it down some, but I doubt it. Could always add more underhood insulation.

done!

I added a heat/sound insulator to my intake over the weekend.

I used heat/sound insulation I found on e-bay for $25 (after shipping) and used 3M spray adhesive 08090 to apply it. It doesnt look too bad, and it definitely knocked the edge off the drone. I can still hear it, but it's nowhere near as loud as it was.

Dang it! I have pictures to post but cant figure out how to post them. URL??

Check it out! As I said, it definitely helped with the drone.
