Rotten Exhaust

Hey Guys,
Just had my flowmaster set up re-done. I had SI/DO 40 series and it rotted really bad after 3 years (which i was told is common) and I replaced it with a SI/SO set up. The guy told me the bottom of my truck is pretty rusted and rotting, which he said is very common of Fords.
Now I am paranoid. Here in NE the salt from the winter does a number on the undercarriage but I mean come on. He said I should still get some use of it for a while. I mean this is an 03 with 29k miles on it. WTF!
What does the undercarriage look like on you guys trucks?

Thanks
Jim

Rot occurs only on wood, if he used that word he is not worthy of even working on your truck. Take a towel and lay down on the ground, look under it for yourself. Rust shouldnt be that big of an issue. Rust takes MANY years to eat throught metal. It would take it a good 10 years in a salt mine to eat through the frame.

I have a 2001 and live in MI. The last time I had my truck in and the undercarriage was looked at they said they were surprised how new it looked. The guy thought it was brand new.
