Cold Air Intake

Do yall recommend upgrading to a Cold Air Intake? If so, what type? If not, what do yall like as far as low dollar performance upgrades. Thanks, Mac

They're not worth it. I took my "hot air intake off" and put my stock filter box and air tube back on. I slapped a K&N filter in it, and I couldn't tell a bit of difference in power. Just less noise. I accidently chirped the tires yesterday with the stock box on there. It's funny that never happened with the aftermarket air intake.

The only one I would buy is the Volant with the closed filter box that draws cool "outside" air from the inside fender. Unfortunately, I can't see paying over $200 for maybe 10-12 hp.

aftermarket hot air intakes are only good in the wintertime

a K&N drop in is the only realistic mod improving real time, real life performance. i can give less of a rats *** who dyno's more. you cant drive a dyno to work, to dinner, and it sure as hell isnt going to fit in the grocery store parking lot. volant, S&B, and outlaw are all closed box intakes and i recommend them if you are willing to spend more money (200-300 depending on model)

edison, LOL!

LOL @ the snorkel edisonrizon.

Socal, that's exactly right. If you use a HAI, when air conditions change, so does the performance. I accidently squeeled a tire again today with the stock air box and drop-in K&N setup. Haha. I can't find a cold air intake for my 4.2L anywhere. My next vehicle will have the 4.6L, so I think the Volant w/cold air box will fit it just fine.
