i was wondering if anyone has tried electronic cutouts with any success in the northern states? my problem is that my girlfriend hates the noise, and so does my family. so a cutout would be the best of both worlds

and where should it go? before the cat or after.

I would stay away from a cutout, I had one from QTP and it sucked *****, I had a major loss of low-end TQ, and that thing leeked and rattled all the time the only cool thing was romping on in next to a ricer, check my gallery for pics

Id just stick with a good aftermarket exhaust..... I tired one with my truck and though it sound's tough, I lost a great deal of power, and FUEL Mileage! It was fun pulling up to a redlight and opening up the cutout.... but that's about all it's good for.... when the light would turn green I'd stomp it and the light was yellow by the time I got mid-way's through the intersection...lol Some of the older style motors, that still have carbs, I think they work better, but with the modern ECU's the loss of backpressure actually hurts your performance.
