dual exhaust for a 4.2

i bought a gibson 2 1/2 inch sport truck cat back system, 1i/2o both exit behind rear passenger tire. i would like to convert it to in front of rear tire. will that sound to loud or should i leave it like it is suppose to be? what does the six cylinders sound like?

i have a 4.2l v6... you will NEVER get that v8 sound because our v6's are even fire engines... if you want loud well thats easy.. but if you want a good sound loud isnt the way to go unless loud pissed off bumble bee sound is okay with you....

The very best setup ive ever heard on a 4.2l v6 was a true dual imco setup. 2 single in single out imco's with an H pipe (H pipes or x pipes are not needed but the H pipe gave it a mustang sound)

anyway... back to your question it probably will sound louder if its infront of the rear tire since the exhaust pipes will be shorter.

thanks for taking the time to answer my thread, it was a big help. what kind of exhaust are you running? need any taillights? if you want a cool tonneau cover with a spoiler fin on the back, let me know. i just installed one on my truck and can turn you on to the distributor. are you running any aftermarket air intake systems?
