AEM Brute Force making awful noise

Hey all, just installed aem brute force intake in my screw 2005 5.4, when I step on it, it is way loud (annoying), at crusing speed it sounds ok, but no way can I stand that high pitch drone...followed instuctions on install...anybody have this problem. Also the heat shield box in no way seals the filter area, there are gaps at top and near the fender....thanks for any suggestions.........Jim

Talking All aftermarket intakes make that noise

I love it, it's the sound of power. Did you ever ride or drive an old muscle car
and stand on it, when that big ole quad opens up???
WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.
Nothing like it in the world.

But you will hear it on the FIPK's too

Yep, I would venture to say that ALL cai's will have that sound.

I just installed my JLT today and it has the drone at WOT also. And a slight drone under load around 1800. But, I knew that would be the result of installing a cai.

I was expecting it at WOT, but not while merging onto freeway, my f350 diesel with aic never sounded like this, don't get me wrong I love the aic sound, but this setup just sounds bad. imao

Well, you just have to remember that your opening up the intake tract significantly. And removing all sound deadening. So it will definately change the sound considerably.

Mine's not bad enough for me not to be happy. I can just turn the radio on at a normal level and it almost completely drowns it out.

+1

That extra noise at WOT means the intake is doing it's job (freeing up the factory bottleneck). With a name like "brute force" I would hope it sounds a little meaner.

I love mine, coupled with the magnaflow exhaust and troyer tuning, the truck sounds like a truck and runs like a sports car.

Gas mileage is horrible, but thats my fault though, I love WOT!!!
