Soundclip of my Magnaflow Setup

Hey! I have a Magnaflow 14" Dual in/Single out setup. I cut the factory Y and ran 2 2.5" pipes to the muffler and used the stock tailpipe. I have a Magnaflow 18" tip with 4" Diameter.

I couldn't get the distortion to go away in the soundclip. This is from about 20' away.

Let me know what you all think.

I was wondering when you were going to show up and give us your review. Nice sound. I take it your happy with the Magnaflow. I'll have to post a sound clip of the 11" si/so Magnaflow that I'm running.
Later

Yeah Im happy with it. It's qute deceiving though. From inside the cab it doesn't sound very loud at all, but it's much louder on the outside. Ive always had flowmasters so I am used to the drone inside.

I thought there would be more responses to this since everyone is always begging for a sound clip!!??!!??

Its (no offense here) still got that nasty magnaflow raspy popping sound just like all the others. I hate that raspiness. I think it makes it sound chitty.

What are you talking about? The only raspiness is the distortion because I have a crappy recorder. There is no raspiness. Also in my experience with both flowmasters and magnaflow, the magnaflow is definitely deeper with the flows being more raspy.

Sounds great! I can't wait for mine to show up. I love the Magnaflow sound. Way better that the Flowmasters.

I said no offense, and obviously you took offense. I mean, about halfway through the sound clip when you get it on up in the rpms, it has that raspy popping sound that all magnaflows have. You posted for opinions, and I gave you one. If you don't like it, the so be it. But that is a raspy popping exhaust.

First off, I don't think anything was wrong with my post, I was very calm...no harsh words...BUT...

Why wouldn't I take offense??? Don't tell somebody 'no offense' and then tell them there exhaust sounds "chitty". I was trying to explain what you are hearing. I will try to get a soundclip from farther away so you will see that any "raspiness" is from the distortion.

Maybe you need to redefine what raspy is. If you mean it sounds more like a hot rod than a car with a baffled muffler, then I guess it's raspy. Maybe we have different definitions of raspy. If you google "raspy" you will find this "Disagreeable to the sense of hearing". In that case, Flowmasters are raspy compared to magnaflows for lots of people.

I'm not trying to start a war here..there are enough of them. I do know that if I ever got another mustang....magnaflows would be going on them instead of the flowmasters I had. I prefer the hot rod sound and straight-through flow over a baffled, flow-restrivtive setup.

Ok, that's it...

I'm registereing a domain called magnaflowVSflowmaster.com so we can all yell at eachother

I do know what you mean about the difference in sound. I used to be all flowmaster...but after getting a magnaflow...I love it. My mustang sounded mean as hell. I had a Mac Prochamber Mid-Pipe(no cats) and flowmaster original 40s. It was really loud outside and inside the cab. One weird thing though...as I got up in the higher RPMs it sounded quieter....like it couldn't flow as good or something...maybe it was the prochamber. It was very loud and rumbly under 3.5K but above that it kinda got quieter. And on the highway, I either had to go 60 or 80 because anything in between would vibrate your brain loose. To each his own!
