Question 92 one fifty

My local muffler shop just converted my 1992 5.0L V8 to dual exhausts with Flomaster 50's. I has a nice smooth mellow growl, now. I didn't want a loud noisy system. He removed the CATS, completely and also the EGR.
The truck certianly has a noticeable improvement in performance with the new system. I am concerned that the removal of the EGR may affect the engine performance over the long run???
Thanks,
TOM
