Fram boost 2 air intake

Is this a good system...I have been thinking of putting a K&N air intake system but wasn't sure what it would do. I want a hp gain(doesn't have to be much but maybe a little more throttle response) and/or more MPG.I was wanting to know which was better a K&N air take system or one of these fram boost 2's. Also on the commercial the vehicles sounded pretty good with the fram boost 2.

www.Troyerperformance.com Go for the 3" Air Force 1. I just got it and its awesome. Nice sound and improved throttle response. Its a must have upgrade.

Seeing as how you asked about these 2 and not an Air Force 1, Ill try and answer your question. I had a K&N FIPK on my 99 5.4 and I loved it. It made a real nice sound at WOT, but all that went out the window when I installed an exhaust. It helps your engine breathe which is always a good thing. Now Im after a AEM, which for my model is pretty much the same design as a Fram except for the finish. What I like about the Fram is that it has that new dryflow filter, which requires no oil Good thing!!

You can never go wrong with a company like K&N, but I think the design of the Fraam is also pretty good. All intakes give you pretty much the same thing, more air for your engine. Just go with which one you like the most

Good luck

Well see I just asked about these 2 because thats about the only ones I have really heard of...Also I was on frams site and I didn't see where they made it for a 95' f-150...they only went as low as a 97...I know they make a k&n...also price wise which one is the most bang for the buck...if they all do about the same then does it matter if I go with a cheap off brand over a k&n or does the cheap off brand hurt you better than help you? Also I do have a dual exhaust...my motor is a 351 windsor 5.8L

I doubt that AF1 makes a product for your application. K&N is pretty much one of the only brands that will make one for your application. That being said, if you can go with a "cheap-off brand" I think thats ok too. That is something Im contemplating on doing also. I would just put a K&N filter instead of the cheap one they give. Check ebay, u can buy a cheap one and just put a better filter.

Or if u want to avoid all that, heres a good one for a reasonable price

Good luck

will this make my exhaust louder....I mean I have a 2wd truck so I don't think in my mid that 2wd trucks should be ear drum busting loud I just want a little louder of a sound....Its fairly loud but all my friends have duals and thiers are a little louder than mine....I don't want to put a new exhaust system on because this one is a new muffler and pipe work and everything....Is that a system or the filter....At Auto Zone I had them look it up while I was in there getting some oil filters and they said the filter that replaces the stock filter was somewhere around $50 I was thinking.....
