Does any one know the diameter of the pipe on the 05s. I have the flowmaster 40 series (only muffler) on my truck. I was wondering if it was worth buying a new one (brand?) that comes with new pipes. Are they that much bigger? Do thay make a difference? Is it worth $350 -$500 plus installation as opposed to the $90 I paid for the flowmaster with installation?

 

the 2004 stock pipes are 2.75", the 05's are a hair or two smaller than that- if the new pipes are mandrell bent, then yes! you will tell the difference- it will a) sound better, and b) have better flow=better performance since the stock pipes are just bent, so the side wall collapse, etc...
