Fume smell from engine bay when backing off!

1999 F150 5.4ltr. Lariat - Just about to clock 200,000klms.
Can anyone tell me most likely reason - Vehicle still operates beautifully - not burning oil but I thought maybe cat converter may be needing a change.
Any help gratefully appreciated.
Also looking for a replacement vehicle service book and instruction manual which is provided with new vehicle. My truck was recently broken into and this booklet together with wallet provided by Ford was stolen.Naturally all service history went too which is a **** off!

I have been told that if it smells like rotten eggs ... then the cats are bad
