Gibson SIDO

Well everyone (or anyone that care, lol), I just ordered my Gibson SIDO exhaust today (actually I started lay-a-way, with several other larger items). I heard a few sound clips online, and spoke with the representative at Xtreme Truck Accessories, and have come to the conclusion it was the way to go. I want something quiet until I want it loud, but something that will get me noticed at WOT. He said on a 1-10 at idle it is about a 2, deep but not loud, and when you are getting on it, it's about 7 or 8... I know it's kinda late now, but anyone else have any experience with this system? Did I make the right call. I know a lot of you have gone with flowmaster and magnaflow, but anyone with the Gibson, or that has heard it in person (sound clips arent the same), what do you think? It's 2.5" with 3.5" tips, rear exit. Thanks in advance for any and all opinions!

I have heard a couple of 2005 5.4 f150s with the gibson set up and they sound pretty good. I have a 2005 with the 4,6 and went with an IMCO Pro-Series with custom bent polished Stainless steel 2.5" pipes and 24" long 3.5" tips, BUt I like a loud exhaust. I think you will be happy with the Gibson. If you ever want a louder exhaust I would go with IMCO.

Also, if you keep your foot off the firewall from time to time you can see some good MPG increases..

foot off the firewall? are you kidding me? i drive he detroit area freeways everday, thats the only way to drive, have to be offensive! lol. i am working on that tho, and with these gas prices goin up, i need to work a little harder. thanks for the input tho, sounds like i made the right decision... cant wait for it to get here, i ordered that, a brush gaurd, manik light bar, and manik reversible rack to accompany the light bar, kind of a big order, but thats what lay-a-way is for! another $2300 and i will have everything, that includes install, and a minor down payment already on there, this truck is gonna bury me in debt, thats why i just pay cash for it, no c.c. here, too much more to spend if i did that (lift, wheels and tires, headers, maybe supercharger, mwuahahaha) one thing at a time...

I have the Gibson SIDO, the package I ordered comes out the corners. It sounds like the same exact thing you ordered. Its a good exhaust, not nearly as loud as a Flowmaster or Magnaflow, but a nice deep growl. When you get on it, it does sound a bit louder, but not really bad. I really like that it doesn't have the really annoying "flowmaster drone" when cruising down the highway. If you stay light on the gas pedal the sound inside the cab is hardly noticable.
As far as mpg increases I'm not really sure. I had my exhaust installed at around 500 miles. City, if I'm nice to it I get around 13. Highway is 16.5-17.5 running on fairly flat ground with cruise on. (btw 5.4 lariet 4x4 3.73ls supercab)

Xtreme Truck is on 9 and woodward, cant miss it, they have a big yellow f150 screw parked out front, older body style. great guys tho, they guy brought an f150 out to me at work (southfield), to show me the manik light bar, you cant beat service like that. their website is www.xtremetruckaccessories.com i highly recommend them. also, soon i will be using them to do an HID conversion on my headlights, so i can keep the factory look, the ebay kits dont impress me too much.

i hope to get well over that kind of mileage out of my truck... im only 22 so im not in a position that i can afford these heavy payments like some of the other guys on here, had to lease it first, 2 years, then im gonna buy it out, that way i still have extra money to do my mods. i know it will cost me more in the long run, but thats how i will make it affordable. so i hope she runs for the next 10-12 years, even if it just becomes a toy for the last couple. pics will be up as soon as i get everything done, im stoked! i will probably pull my runnin boards of because i managed to already wreck those offroading, drivers side is bent real bad...

i have the 2002 5.4 with ALOT of mods, but i run gibson ceramic coated headers and the split rear exhaust and i am very very happy with mine. gibson also has the mandrel bent that is tuned for each vehicle.
