In my opinion, you will see little improvement, although the deeper sound is rewarding.

I have found that the round mufflers are quieter than the oval ones.

I have a Magnaflow SI/DO with the 18" muffler. You can barely tell its not stock on idle, but it lets you know that it is not when you get on it. I wonder what the quietest Magnaflow would sound like?

I had the 4x8x18" Magnaflow 12256 installed today for $140 out the door including a nice chromed stainess tip. At idle and at normal cruising its quiet but when you step on it it has a nice dep growl. Not loud and obnoxious at all. I would not go with a 24" or it would be just like stock.

I noticed a lil more from 0 to around 45, it accelerates more than it did stock, actually it pulls strong(compared to stock) all the way to 80. That is with a S&B intake and the Magnaflow combined, I really didn't notice much with just the exhaust.

I'm not looking for much sound at all, just looking for a little gain.If i went with the 24 surely it would be less restrictive and better than stock right? Also the one that troyer tested and said shows the most gains,I know he is talking about the complete system, but what model # is that muffler?

I don't think replacing just the muffler will get you much "seat of the pants" performance, I installed a cat-back and didn't notice much til after I had installed an intake.
