service engine light

I installed a K&N air intake kit, and about twenty miles later the service engine light came on. Anyone else have this happen? The computer code for the light is that it is running too rich. My inspection is due, but I don't want to spend too much to fix this problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Firmly tighten down all hose clamps and see what happens.

Did you oil the K&N filter? If you over oiled it (common occurance) the oil may have coated the Mass/Air Sensor wires which would possibly throw the running rich code- as well as not run right.

It may be worth the while to pull out the MAS again and clean it with some type of electronics spray/cleaner. DO NOT TOUCH the sensor wires with anything but the spray. Let it dry a couple mins. Re-install and see what happens.
