Straight out the Back?
Straight out the Back?
I'm new to the forum and semi new to exhaust. I was wondering if there was an advantage in sound for running the tailpipe straight out the back or having them 45 out of the corners? I have also heard that if you have them straight out the back and get rear ended that they may shove up into the engine. Is this true?
I doubt there is any sound difference the sound is the same outside. But if you get them 45 degrees then you can hear them louder inside the cab(which i hate) I got mine out the back and it sounds GREAT get compliments all the time and when people are in the cab of my truck they always notice that there exhaust out the sides is the same sounding outside but MUCH louder in the cab.
some people do it at an angle out the back so if they go up a steep hill it wont catch the pipe. also for trailering they do that so it keeps the front of the trailer clean. i like them out at an angle..
