Opinions on best exhaust setup for a 2004 5.4L

Hey. Just got an 04 screw Lariat with the 5.4L. I'll be putting exhaust on it soon and wanted opinions on the best complete exhaust system (not just cat back) with headers. Money isn't an issue, I'm willing to spend more for a better system if that's what it takes. I plan on keeping this truck for a long time so I'm leaning more towards stainless (although it doesn't have to be) as I live next to the ocean and don't want it to rust out on me. I have a Borla system on my jeep and love it so I'll probably be looking into that. I don't necessarly want it real loud but more of a deep tone to it and hopefully a little more power. Removing the cats is not an option as I have emissions testing to get through every year. I'd also like to know about having the exhaust dumps before the rear tires out the sides. Do you get any back flow of fumes into the cab (windows up/down) by doing this and does the exhaust damage the paint down the sides? Should I go with true dual exhaust? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like you need a Magnaflow muffler. Try this website:http://www.fle-online.com/

Try JBA or magnaflow for a quality stainless system without an annoying sound but more mustang sounding, plus it feels a lot stronger

Almost forgot, Bassani makes a good powerful sound for the SVT guys, so it probably would for a regular f-150 too. Your lucky, you have a popular body style, so finding a good system will be easy.

hey if you want I have a 2004 5.4L new body style with a V-force FloPro exhaust system on it.....sounds the best ive ever heard(ive heard flowermaster, borla, magnaflow etc.)....I thought it was the best sounding one very deep tone with no loud obnoxious popping like flowmaster or other brands such as that. I can email you a sound clip of my exhaust some time soon within the next few days if you give me your email ill gladly do it.

Thanks but I'm looking at new. I live next to the ocean and with the spray coming off the waves the salt is everywhere rusting everything out. With a new stainless system I have a warranty. Besides, a good friend of mine is my mechanic so I can get pretty much anything at cost through him. I'm just searching for the best sounding/performing system. Thanks anyway.

Thanks but I live in Canada and by the time I pay shipping to Canada, duty and taxes it usually isn't worth it. Should've kept my US mailbox (I live next to the border) and got it shipped there then installed it and drove it back.

Sounds like it's a little too loud for what I'm looking for anyway.
